Nunayak presents: Canoe-raft in the Haute-Savoie Region

A canoe-raft is a two-seater boat, which allows the discovery of the river in an autonomous way.

Canoeing in the French Alps in Samoëns on the Giffre River in the Haute-Savoie region

This is an unsinkable two-seater, self-draining pneumatic canoe. It is not affected by shocks or jamming, unlike rigid canoes. Lightweight, it is easy to handle in every situation.

It is an ideal boat to sail on and makes it easy to learn the techniques of the river.

After a navigation and safety techniques briefing with a guide, you will learn how to control your boat and discover the pleasure of sailing together, thanks to its stability and manoeuverability.

We mainly sail on the Giffre River between Sixt and Samoëns, on a shorter route, avoiding the passage of the Tines Gorges. After experimentation, you may be able to cross the Gorges.

Information about the Cano-Raft

Cano-raft on the Giffre River

The Giffre River is located in the Haute-Savoie Region and more precisely in the Samoëns Valley. It takes its sources in the  Cirque du Fer-à-Cheval (classified “national park” as a natural reserve). The Giffre River flows in the very heart of an exceptional Valley that is surrounded by an incredible ancient geology.

You’ll get to know the Tines Gorges, which are a 40-meter deep canyon in which only rafting and other white-water sports can access this spot.

So, let’s get started with Nunayak !

1 – Please arrive 15 min before the activity starts at our rafting base at Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval

2 – Our guides will equip you and make a little briefing before going out

3 – You’ll then be able to go on the river for an unforgetable moment !

4 – Our Nunabus will pick you back up to our base

5 – Our guides will collect the equipment that was given to you

6 – Why not drinking a cold beverage at Nunabar after your session?
